We are all mad about skiing and wanted to explore the idea of owning a property abroad to ski in the winter and go on walking holidays in the summer. Italy was our first choice and we contacted Historic Italian Homes.
What started as a hunch that it would be a good idea to buy a property in Italy soon became the reality of sitting in our own place and is now certainly in the top 5 best things we have ever done, without the help of Historic Italian Homes we would still be thinking about it.
How do you sum up the completeness of their service? They took all the pain out of the experience, helping us find the right property, setting up our bank account, walking us through all the legal matters, baby sitting & entertaining our young children while mum & dad are some what distracted with signing bank forms and notary documents, through to even acting as night porter when we arrived in late from England to our hotel in Valle D'Aosta.
Now we have a home in Italy. It's not just a property. Every time we return all our belongings are there and it is as warm and inviting as our home in England.
The skiing in the Val d'Ayas in winter is superb, the walking in summer fantastic - the only draw back is there are not enough holidays to enjoy it....... at the moment!
We look forward to working with them again when we restore a rustico.
